Bridge Team and Resource Management
This course has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW section A-II/2-6.The BTRM course is carried out with assistance of: IMO-model Courses:1.21 - “Personal Safety and Social Responsibility”
1.22 - “Ship simulator and Bridge Teamwork”
7.01 - “Master and Chief Mate”
7.03 - “Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch”
The purpose and task of the course are to teach the masters and officers to understand the concept of BTRM, to improve the knowledge of collective mutual relation and use of all human resources and ship equipment for accident-free operation, to pay attention to the human’s factor influence and failures, which are connected to it. The training of “BTRM” students is carried out on simulators produced by Ships Analytics, USA type “Full Mission Bridge Simulator”, approved by Maritime Administration of Ukraine. Each candidate wishing to pass training on “BTRM” course and receive the appropriate documents must be:
- Not younger than 18 years
- To have marine education, confirmed by sea service as master or officer of the ship
- To have the certificate of the competence of captain, chief officer or duty officer
“Bridge Team and Resource Management” training course starts every week. Registration on this course is conducted in room 114.
