Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat
The course “Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat” meets the mandatory minimum requirements stated in section A-VI/2 of the STCW Code. The course “Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat” provides the training for candidates to launch and take charge of a fast rescue boat. The course “Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat” is carried out with assistance of IMO-model Course 1.24 - Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in fast rescue boats, a trainee will be competent to handle and take charge such boats during or after launch in adverse weather and sea conditions. They will also be able to operate a fast rescue boat engine. Trainees will know the correct use of all locating devices, including communication and signalling equipment between the rescue boat and a helicopter and the ship; and how to carry out search patterns. Persons successfully completing this course receive the appropriate certificate.“Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat” training course starts every week. Registration on this course is conducted in room 202.
