Medical First Aid
The course "Medical First Aid" meets the mandatory minimum requirements stated in Section A-VI/4B of the STCW Code 1995. The course "Medical first Aid" created in accordance with the IMO model course 1.14 – Medical First Aid. Medical First Aid Course is intended for officers and other specified crew members of seagoing merchant ships without regard to the type of ship or trade in which they may be engaged. The course assumes that there will be on board a specified member of the crew who has successfully completed the more advanced medical training in accordance with Section A-VI/4 of STCW Code and who will be in charge of medical care. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in medical first aid, a trainee will be competent to apply immediate first aid in the event of accidence or illness on board ship until the arrival of the person who is in charge of medical care.Training course “Medical First Aid” starts every week. Registration on this course is conducted in room 202.
